UNTIL NOW when it came to drug avoidance students had two choices:
1. Give into peer pressure and say “YES”
2. Overcome peer pressure and say “NO”
NOW THERE IS A THIRD CHOICE! The random testing element of our program empowers students with a logical excuse to exit a tough situation. With the support of Drug Free Clubs of America our students can say, “I CAN’T…I MIGHT GET TESTED”, and get rewarded!!!
Peer pressure is one of the leading causes of teenage drug use and addiction, and is one of the strongest forces students face today. Drug Free Clubs of America is a powerful resistance tool every student can rely on when they need it most…the first and every time they are offered drugs.
By taking advantage of the incentives offered to Club members, Drug Free Clubs stops the negative peer pressure to experiment, and changes it to positive peer pressure to take advantage of discounts, free items and special offers!
DRUG FREE CLUBS OF AMERICA creates the positive peer pressure students need to succeed!
To become a member of Drug Free Clubs of America, students volunteer to take a urine drug test for commonly used drugs. Those who test drug free will receive a picture I.D. that recognizes them as members of Drug Free Clubs of America. As a member, students will receive incentives and rewards for choosing to live a healthy lifestyle. Examples include scholarships, discounts to restaurants and stores plus much more! Besides their initial testing, drug free clubs of America will also conduct random tests throughout the school year. Students will keep their membership as long as they test drug free.
Drug Free Clubs of America has enlisted the services of a Medical Review Officer (MRO) offering resources for teenage drug intervention or treatment. Only the MRO can confirm a positive drug screen result. The MRO, will act as the liaison between the parents/guardians and Drug Free Clubs of America. Students who test positive must relinquish their card and any special privileges. The parent will then have the opportunity to seek counseling for their child and assist them in returning to a healthy lifestyle. When the student is able to test negative for the presence of drugs he or she will be welcomed back into the club and all privileges will be reinstated.
Drug Free Clubs of America will also assist schools that wish to implement a mandatory drug testing policy for students involved in athletics and extra-curricular activities. Ask your local Drug Free Clubs of America representative for further information
